Typical Portrait Studio Workflow using ProSelect

Everybody is different so ProSelect doesn't lock you into one set of procedures. Below is example of one way in which a portrait photography studio may use ProSelect.

1. Add your Images

You can add any sized, JPEG, TIFF or PhotoShop files to an Album. ProSelect creates a single album file containing screen sized copies of your images, thumbnails, notes and order information allowing you to prepare, present and process on different computers.

2. Prepare the Presentation

Select one or more images in Thumbnail View, rotate them, remove rejects and change the display order for best effect. You can transform selected images to Black & White or Sepia or apply Photoshop Actions to one or more images at a time.

3. Save the Presentation in an Album

Save the completed Album to a file in your client's name. This file can be easily moved to another machine for the presentation or later archiving

4. Present

Use Slideshow view to present a slideshow to your client with optional music

5. Choose

Use Show Images view to display screen sized images. You can choose and display up to six images at a time for easy comparison. Images are automatically sized and positioned for maximum impact. Use the keyboard or mouse to sort images into the Yes, Maybe or No tabs. You can instantly change them to Black & White or Sepia, add notes and try different cropping styles.

6. Layout

If you are selling single or multi-image layouts or composite prints, choose a layout from the template library that you have created. Then drop your images into the openings. Swap images about, adjust the cropping and add styles to delight your client with the final looking product in seconds.

7. Select Size

If you have a digital projector, you can display your images and layouts on the screen at their actual size. Click a button to change to the next larger or smaller size. Size information can be displayed in inches or centimetres.

8. Take Orders

Use your selected price list to record your orders together with prices. Up to six different order groups can be taken and separately totalled. You can add names and notes for each order group, include extras or discounts and print the order (with optional thumbnails) for your client to take away.

9. Process Orders

Use ProSelect Pro's High-Res Production module to automatically build your final images. With its check-list style structure you can quickly see which images need to be manually retouched and do this before starting the automated section which will output the final images ready for the lab.
