Do I need a projector or big screen monitor?

ProSelect will work with regular computer monitors (including laptops), data projectors or large screen TVs connected to a computer provided your screen resolution is at least 1024 x 768 pixels (XGA) in size.

We recommend using it with a large screen or data projector because you can then take advantage of "Select size view" which enables you to project your prints and images at actual size as this is a great selling tool.  Apart from this, all other features are usable on a small screen.

The larger the screen, the larger the image that you will be able to project at actual size, so data projectors have some advantages if you are selling (or wish to sell!) large prints or collages.

Most new LCD/Plasma TVs and projectors take a VGA or DVI signal cable. These are available in quite long lengths so you can position your computer a convenient distance away from the TV or data projector. Very long cables may reduce the quality of the display so you should either try before you buy and/or get professional advice when choosing and setting up this equipment.

You will find lot of good information in this subject on our Projectors and Large Screen TV's page.

Mirror Display Area

If your computer supports two separate video output connections (sometimes called extended desktop), you can also setup ProSelect in "Mirror Display Area" mode which allows you have a different display for the client and the operator (sales person).

See the article Dual Monitors and Projector Screens for more on this subject.
