ProSelect not connecting to the ProSelect Network Server

If you are using the ProSelect Network Server, ensure you have the current ProSelect Network Server software version installed also. You will find this software release on the main ProSelect Software Download page and this will run with all versions of ProSelect.

Note: Each installed version of ProSelect must be the same version to enable the connection to the ProSelect Network Server (see below). You can check which version is installed by looking on the "About ProSelect" window in ProSelect.

After installing and running the ProSelect Network Server software, you need to set the version number of ProSelect that you are running on your computers in the ProSelect Network Server window. This is done in the top right window under "Allow connections from:" and choose the relevant ProSelect version (eg "Version 2011r2") before starting any copies of ProSelect.

When you do this, the ProSelect Network Server will not respond to any versions of ProSelect other than the selected version. This is to prevent data loss that can occur if an older version of ProSelect updates the Prices & Templates data created by a newer version. (You should always run the exact SAME version of ProSelect anyway for data compatibity, such as preventing data loss by opening albums created with newer version, in an older version.)

Note:

The ProSelect Network Server Software no longer distributes the registration key to ProSelect 2010r1 or newer software as you can now easily taken care of using the on-line registration key method to register each copy.

If this has not resolved the connection issue, then for more helpful information, please see the article "
