What version of Photoshop do I need?

ProSelect does link to Photoshop for some functions, however, the majority of program's functions will work without Photoshop.

For ProSelect versions 2017r1 & 2018r1 (and possibly newer), you need Photoshop CS6 or newer to access all Photoshop related functions.

This list below shows which functions require Photoshop and which version of Photoshop is required:

  • Open Original Images in Photoshop: Photoshop CS6 or newer
  • Open Raw files in Photoshop:  Photoshop CS6 or newer
  • Open multiple Raw files in Photoshop: Photoshop CS6 or newer
  • High-Res Production:  Photoshop CS6 or newer
  • Testing the Connection to Photoshop (in the Preferences):  Photoshop CS6 or newer
  • Loading Custom Actions from Photoshop: Photoshop CS6 or newer
  • Running Custom Effects Actions : Photoshop CS6 or newer
  • Editing Videos in Photoshop: Photoshop CS6 or newer
  • Using the Always Use Photoshop option for adding images to a subfolder in your ProSelect Resources folder from within ProSelect. If you don't have Photoshop installed you can still either add .png files from within ProSelect (preferred) or manually add .psd and .png files to this folder from outside of ProSelect.  To find where your ProSelect Resources folder is located see this article.
