Changing crop of image in a Room

Sizes are controlled by the Print Paper sizes that you have setup.  I recommend that you watch the Quick Tip movie "Select Size View" movie - access under the Training menu (on the ProStudio Software website). Sizing when Working with Rooms works the same way as this.

However, if wishing to change the cropping of an image, then you can do this two ways:

Option 1 - using images

  1. When in Working with Rooms, double click on the image to go to Working with Images
  2. Press C key to change to Cropping view
  3. Adjust the crop with a cropping shape that matches your print size e.g. 20x24 would be 1:20 ratio. Since this is not a standard ratio, hold down alt/option key for free shape cropping. Stop when you get to 1:20.
  4. Then hold shift key while dragging the corners of the cropping rectangle to adjust the crop size with the shape locked at that aspect ratio.
  5. Adjust the position of the cropping rectangle by clicking and dragging it in the centre of the crop region.
  6. IMPORTANT: Make sure that you have unchecked Crop to Print Sizes (under View Menu).
  7. Go back to Working with Rooms (or use the R shortcut key).

See the QuickTip movie called "Crop to Print Size" - access under the Training menu (on the TimeExposure web site).

Option 2 - using templates

  1. Create some templates of different shapes with the opening being the full size of the template e.g. a 20x24 opening in a 20x24 template. Each template can be a fixed size or not depending whether your priority is the size or the shape.
  2. Add the image to the template
  3. In cropping view use the crop in/out button to adjust the crop. Drag the image to adjust its position in the template
  4. Add it to your wall in Room View

For more about template see the template movies on the Webinar Recording Archives area (under the Training menu also).
