Xerox Color 8580 Color Qube Printer on Windows issues

We have received three reports from owners using Xerox Color 8580 Color Qube printers not correctly printing Proof sheets from ProSelect using Widows 7 and 10. The symptoms were:

(a) at full resolution, only parts of the images in each proof image were printed.

(b) changing to a lower resolution resulted in smaller images in each image location.

In one case, the user had recently upgraded from the older model of the same printer which worked perfectly with ProSelect. They were using the same version of ProSelect (2016r1) prior to changing to the new printer and the previous printer (a Xerox 8570) worked perfectly.

In another case, the user had just installed this printer and it was working fine using ProSelect 2017r1 for a while then started having a problem.

All stated that the were using the latest version of the printer's drivers from Xerox.

After some investigation, we concluded that since the only change was the printer, a possible Windows update or an updated the printer driver, and so the problem was likely an issue with the printer's driver.  However, Xerox claimed that there were no issues with their printer or software.

As a workaround, it was found that it was possible to print to the "Microsoft XPS Document Writer", which saves to a file. Then open that file and print to the Xerox printer from there.

We have had no reports from any Mac users about any problems related to this printer.

We will keep this article updated with any further developments.
