Norton Security on Mac interfers with ProSelect

We have just come across a case where a ProSelect user was running Norton Security Life Lock on a Mac with OSX Catalina.

With Norton turned on (set to do Active Scans), it was preventing ProSelect from adding files to the ProSelect Resources folder and updating files in the ProSelect Low Res Resources folder. These folder is used by ProSelect to keep your resource images/file (frames, overlay images, music file, slideshow & mat backgrounds etc).

These folder is located in

Username -> Library -> Application Support -> ProSelect -> ProSelect Low Res Resources

Username -> Library -> Application Support -> ProSelect Resources

In this case, it was causing an error in ProSelect when trying to import frames and then add those frames to the available frames list.

The solution was to turn off Norton, delete all the frames from both folders then re-import the frames again.

When deleting the files, OSX warns you that some of the files are being used by another application and do you wish to continue. You need to select "Apply to All" and continue.

Until Norton provides a fix for this issue, we recommend that you do not install Norton or at least turn off Active Scans.
