Big screen images are small using Mirror Display Area

ProSelect's Mirror Display Area mode allows you to just show ProSelect's display area on another screen, hiding the menu bar, image list and tool bars from the client's view.

In versions before ProSelect 2011r2, because the software literally copies the display area of the control screen (the one with ProSelect's main window on) to the other screen, the maximum display size when using this mode is set from the smaller of either ProSelect's Display Area size on the control screen OR the overall size of the second screen.

If you are using a projector as the client's screen then usually this will be XGA size (1024x768), so your computer screen should be at least 1280 x1024 so you get the full use of the space on the projector. Otherwise you will find that the client's screen has a large black border around the edges.

If you have a higher resolution projector or flat screen display then you will need to use a higher-resolution screen on your main computer - this may not be possible if you are using a laptop with a fixed resolution video card. If you are using a desktop computer then you may need to upgrade your video card to one which support higher resolutions. Obviously it will need to be a "dual head" which supports two screens in order to use your projector in Mirror Display Area mode.

Other things to check:

1. The size of the original images that you are loading into ProSelect. Are they low-res copies? This is not recommended however, if so, make sure that you have "Expand Small Images" checked in the View Menu.

2. If the originals are high-res image files, then check the size that you have selected ProSelect to downsize them to in Preferences -> Importing Images -> Settings -> Adding Images -> Resize to.  (In ProSelect version 3.x, this is under the Preferences -> Importing Images -> Re-size to.)

3. If you are using ProSelect 2011r2 or newer then make sure that you have unchecked the Keep Same Size checkbox in Preferences -> Display -> Calibration & Options -> Display Mirroring. Having this checked tells ProSelect to use the pixel copy method used in earlier versions of the software.
