Saving Order Reports & Proof Sheets to a PDF file

You can save your client Order Reports/Invoices and Proofsheets into a file by printing them to a ".pdf".  These can then be emailed and read using the free Adobe Reader.

On Macs

The option of printing your reports to a PDF file is built into most modern Mac computers.

While the location of this does vary a little depending on which version of OSX you are running, in Mavericks (10.9) and newer, you just click the "PDF" button in the "Print" dialog box that appears when printing anything from within ProSelect. Then select Save as PDF followed by the location and file name of the file to be saved.

Alternatively you can choose Mail PDF and open your Mail program with the PDF already attached.

If you are using this option and finding that your PDF file size is particularly large, then you can reduce the report resolution in ProSelect (see below) or change your OSX settings as described in this article: "Reducing .PDF size for Reports on Mac OSX"

On Windows 10

If you are using Windows 10, printing to a pdf file is now built into the standard print dialog window. Under Select Printer, choose Microsoft Print to PDF, then select the destination and filename of the .pdf file.

Windows XP, Vista, 7 & 8

To Print to a PDF file, you will need to install additional software.  If you have the full version of Adobe Acrobat DC installed this this provides this option. See the Adobe documentation on how to setup and use this.

Otherwise,  there are number of free "Virtual Printers" that will print to a pdf file such as CutePDF Writer. When installing this software it will, by default, offer to install other software on your computer at the same time. Follow the steps below to install this WITHOUT any extra software.

Once installed, you can then select the CutePDF Writer from the Print window when printing anything from ProSelect.

If you are using this option and finding that your PDF file size is particularly large then you can reduce the Report Resolution in ProSelect (see Mac section above) or change the Printer Preferences for the CutePDF Writer as shown below:
