Replacing All Imported Images

Unless you are using a RAW+jpg workflow, it is best to import hi-res images into ProSelect (ProSelect will automatically create low-res copies and store these in the album file) because ProSelect will then know where to find these images when they are required for Hi-res Production.

If you have imported low-res images and would like to replace them with original hi-res images, you can use the following technique PROVIDED the image names for the original images are EXACTLY THE SAME as the image names as the ones you first imported.

The method simply involves telling ProSelect the location of the original images (so it updates its internal links) and then reloading those images.

Reloading the Images

  1. In Thumbnail view in Working with Images mode, select all of  the images using Edit Menu --> Select All.
  2. Then choose Reload Selected Images (Album Menu --> Original Images). This will re-import the original image and replace the existing one in the ProSelect album.

Note: If you have images in different sets, you can first turn on Show All image Sets Together (under the View menu) to see all images in all sets under the same Tab and then select all of these. If you have images in different tabs (yes, maybe, no), you will need to repeat this re-loading section for each tab or move all images into the same tab so you can select them all at once.

Changing the link to the imported images

Normally, using Find All Original Images (Album Menu --> Original Images) will simply check that the imported images are still in the same location that you imported them from. If ProSelect can't find these it will ask you to select the new location.

To force ProSelect to ask you for the new location you can either:

  • Move or rename the imported images folder, OR
  • You can hold the SHIFT key down when selecting Find All Original Images. This will force ProSelect to ignore the existing location links and always ask you for a new location.

Hint: You can check that an image has been correctly linked to its new location by selecting an image and choosing Show Selected Image Info (under the Album menu). You will see the path to the image location in the window that appears.
