ProSelect Activations and Reactivations

Each installed copy of ProSelect must be activated on the computer it is installed on before it can be used. A ProSelect Registration Screen is shown where you enter your account credentials.

Account Credentials

The email address and password used for your ProStudioSoftware.com account are the information required to activate your software.

If you cannot activate your software and receive a message that your password is incorrect, you will need to confirm that you can manually log into your account at ProStudioSoftware.com. If you cannot log into your account, you’ll need to reset your password.

Activations

The number of computers you can activate is controlled by the number of licenses on your account under the terms of the EULA. If you need to activate another computer and it tells you you have no activations available, you’ll need to deactivate another computer or purchase or lease another license.

Activating and Deactivating

Once the program has been registered, you will find the Activate ProSelect or Deactivate ProSelect commands under the Help Menu.

Periodic Reactivation

ProSelect requires the program to be activated and periodically reactivated for each machine that it is installed and used. Activation is done automatically using the online program registration option, and periodic reactivation occurs automatically if your computer is connected to the internet.

For non-leased versions, reactivation takes place every 30 to 60 days. If you are on a payment plan, reactivation will be more frequent.

When a ProSelect license is leased, the software requires reactivating at least once each week. We highly recommend that you only use ProSelect on computers that are connected to the Internet to allow the ProSelect software to be automatically reactivated as necessary.

Computers must be connected to the internet for periodic reactivation. In ProSelect, if you go to ProSelect > About ProSelect (Mac) or Help > About ProSelect (Windows) and click the Registration tab, you can see the number of days until the next reactivation. If ProSelect is not opened and connected to the internet during the reactivation window, a grace period of a few days is allowed. If  ProSelect is opened within this grace period and the computer is not connected to the internet, a warning will be shown on the screen and the number of days until a connection is required for continued use.

If ProSelect is not opened and connected to the internet within the reactivation window and the grace period, it will be deactivated. When ProSelect is reopened, a ProSelect activation screen will appear. You will need to click Activate Now, or enter your account credentials, depending on your ProSelect version.

On machines that are not online with ProSelect open within about 90 days, the software is automatically deactivated on our servers. This is useful for computers that were removed from service, and ProSelect was not deactivated prior to disposal.

If you know that you are going to be offline for a period and have a reactivation due during that time, you can deactivate and reactivate ProSelect (using the commands under the Help Menu in ProSelect), to extend your next reactivation required date.

If the email address or password on your ProStudioSoftware.com is changed, the next reactivation of ProSelect will require you to enter the new account credentials.

Manual activation is no longer available.

Viewing your currently Activated Computers List

You can log into your ProStudioSoftware.com account and view a list of all of your currently activated computers. You will find the link to do this in My Account > My Products (tab) > Registered Products > "View my Currently Activated machines".

Activation Log

ProSelect keeps activation data in a log file (proselect_activation_log.txt) on your computer in the following location:

On Mac:
Your User Folder/Library/Application Support/ProSelect

On Windows Vista, 7, 8,10 & 11:
C:\Users\Your User Name\AppData\Roaming\ProSelect

By default, these folders are hidden from view by your operating system.
